Hialeah is getting together with Uber to provide transportation to at-risk residents in the city. People can use the service to go to “essential” places like grocery stores, pharmacies, and medical appointments.
With many transportation services shut down or curtailed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, getting to and from necessary places is difficult for people who depend upon that type of travel.
“We know that transportation can be a huge challenge for the residents in our community and so what we want to do, as part of the program, is remove that barrier and make sure residents have that access to transportation,” said Javier Correoso, public affairs manager for Uber.
The service is being limited at this time to two roundtrip rides. You will need an access code to do so. You can get these codes by calling the Hope Mission Center at (305) 456-1514.

We would also like to remind our Hialeah neighbors that our company has remained opened to respond to any type of water-related emergency that you may have during this stay-at-home time. Water damage is one of those things you should not wait to take care of. You and your family can’t remain safe if water or mold threatens your home.
