A number of employees at the McDonald’s near S.W. 89th and Penn were injured when a woman who was told she could not “dine-in” opened fire on them. After being told she couldn’t eat inside the restaurant, the woman and one employee got into a scuffle. The woman left and then returned shortly with a handgun and opened fire.
Police say she fired three rounds, striking one employee in the arm; shrapnel struck three other employees. Three of the four were transported to the hospital.
32-year-old Gloria Woody was arrested without incident a few blocks away from the restaurant.
The following statement was released by McDonald’s:
“The safety and security of our employees and customers is our top priority. Our thoughts and prayers are with all those involved, and the good news is that we can report the employees who sustained injuries are expected to make a full recovery. This is a heinous crime on our restaurant employees who were trying to support public health efforts. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement as they continue to investigate this matter.”
Water Mold Fire Restoration of Oklahoma City feels the same about all of these restrictions on our personal lives as most other Oklahoma City residents do. But to result to violence with restaurant employees that are only obeying orders is beyond ridiculous.
